Feb. 21: Minnesota sends Gerald Green to Houston for Kirk Snyder, a second-round pick and cash
Houston: Since they lost Wells an hour prior, they felt the need to fill the gap. So they get Green, who is still young and not fully formed, but should give the Rockets a boost off the bench.
Even if Green doesn't play a minute, they’ll probably sell a few more tickets if Green decides to do another “Birthday Cake”.
Our Experts Rating: A-
Minnesota: They receive a free two-month glance at Snyder before they need to decide whether or not to make him an offer next year. This move actually makes sense and you typically can't say that about many Wolves moves.

Feb. 21: Detroit sends Primoz Brezec to Toronto for Juan Dixon.
Detroit: It’s a bit of an improvement from the absolutely useless Brezec to the somewhat useful Dixon.
Our Experts Rating: B
Toronto: The Raptors get Brezec, which is exactly what they needed, because they’re desperate to get some big men on the court and Brezec will absolutely help in that department. He won’t add much, but, if nothing else, he adds some size to the court.

Feb. 20: Seattle trades Kurt Thomas to San Antonio for Brent Barry, Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round pick.
Seattle: Looks like Seattle GM Sam Presti is looking to make some room in the salary cap to make some moves for next year. They let go of there number one big man, but acquired Elson and also Donyell Marshall in the Sczcerbiak trade to Cleveland and Chicago. The Sonics now have 3 first round picks due to making these trades. Looks like their playing for the future.
They already decided to waive Brent Barry and Elson is eligible for a buyout therefore, the Sonics will save some cash.
Our Experts Rating: B+
San Antonio: With all of the big moves going down in the West, the Spurs felt they need a tough big man in the frontcourt, particularly with Horry on the decline, and Thomas will be a perfect fit. He is a strong defender and will open up the floor for Duncan.
San Antonio is taking a risk that Barry ends up being bought out and signing with another Western conference rival and start dropping 3’s on the Spurs in the postseason. But Barry has been watching from the sidelines due to ankle problems. If Barry was healthy, this deal might not have gone down.
This move will also take the Spurs under the luxury tax.
San Antonio, in fact, was very astute, because now they’re enough under the cap that they could actually reacquire Barry after the season.

Feb. 19: Dallas signs Keith Van Horn and trades Van Horn, Devin Harris, Trenton Hassell, Maurice Ager, DeSagana Diop, first-round draft choices in 2008 and 2010, and cash considerations to New Jersey for Jason Kidd, Malik Allen and Antoine Wright; waives Nick Fazekas
Dallas: Kidd goes back home. Jason Kidd returns to the big D in hopes of winning a championship. This trade took many hours and alterations and might not have even been worth all the hassle.
Kidd didn’t set off any sparks in his debut for the Mav’s, getting battered by the Hornets' rookie point guard, Chris Paul, which was exactly what Dallas was afraid of after losing their best perimeter defender, Devin Harris.
Kidd, though, will bring some leadership and experience to the locker room and will help Dallas just as much in the locker room as on the court. But, in order to get Kidd, the Mav’s had to give up 2 first rounders and Diop who is an excellent defender in the post.
Our Experts Rating: B
New Jersey: The Nets look like they’re going to be rebuilding and what a better way to start than by getting a rising star in point guard Devin Harris. They also got 2 first round draft picks. I think this is a great start to the rebuilding period for New Jersey

Feb. 16: Atlanta acquires Mike Bibby from Sacramento in exchange for Shelden Williams, Lorenzen Wright, Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue and a 2008 second-round draft pick.
Sacramento: Sacramento GM said he wouldn’t lose Bibby unless whoever took him would also take Kenny Thomas. That, obviously, didn’t happen. I’m surprised that they didn’t take the deal offered to them by Cleveland, which would’ve sent Drew Gooden to the Kings.
Sacramento, basically just got some expiring contracts in return, so at least at year end, they’ll be able to free up some luxury tax room and possibly sign a big name free agent.
Our Experts Rating: C
Atlanta: Atlanta finally gets a point guard and a 3 point shooter, both of which they were lacking. Bibby is only 29 and only has 1 year left on his contract.
This could be the solution that the Hawks have been looking for. This move will enable them to make a run at the playoffs, being that this year is playoffs or bust.
Atlanta currently holds the leagues’ longest playoff draught. If Atlanta can stay out of the 7 or 8 spot in the east and avoid playing Boston and Detroit, for at least one round, they could not only make the playoffs, but now with Bibby, they have the ability to do some damage.
